Opening

Finchcocks can be visited by groups and individuals by appointment
at times when the house is closed to the general public.

A private visit would include the opportunity to look around the house, with its magnificent collection of period keyboard instruments, its exhibition of prints, pictures and costumes on the theme of the eighteenth century Pleasure Gardens, as well as the beautiful garden, which is now fully restored. It would also include a demonstration/recital in the main hall, usually by Richard Burnett, on a selection of instruments – harpsichords, chamber organ, barrel organ and a number of early pianos. These musical tours are extremely entertaining and amusing, and suitable for both the general visitor and for those whose main interest is musical.

DATES Most days from mid March to the end of October, preferably not Monday. Also special Christmas visits in December. See our special Christmas Menu!

TIMES Visits can be morning, afternoon or evening. We are flexible and try to fit in with the programme of the group as far as possible. Suggested times:
Morning: 10.30am Afternoon: 2pm Evening: 6.30pm

LENGTH OF VISIT It is recommended that visitors come for about 3 hours. This would include the musical tour, a short introduction to Finchcocks, opportunity to look around the museum, shop and garden, and have time for either a meal or light refreshment.

NUMBERS Minimum 25 on their own, Maximum 100. Smaller groups can join together, or come on the general Open Days. Individuals can join groups
when appropriate. Please note we reserve the right to join groups together as is necessary; groups which require exclusive entrance may be required to pay more.
