Finchcocks in the 19th Century
Beginnings
Records of Finchcocks, or Finchcox, as it is sometimes spelt, go back to 1256 when a family of that name lived a little to the east of the present site. By the fifteenth century the Horden family owned the property and through marriage Finchcocks passed to the Bathurst Family.
