Receptions

The Cellar Restaurant (click here to see pictures): This is an atmospheric vaulted area which can accomodate up to 100 people. However it is an E-shape: the central part can take up to 50 people; the three interconnectiong alcoves provide seating for another 50. These is limited visibility into the alcoves, depending on the seating plan.

This area is ideal for smaller weddings (up to about 60) when fixed seating is required. However it is well suited for larger gatherings for a finger or fork buffet, and provides an excellent setting for an evening dance with a band or disco.

The Marquee on the Terrace: There is a brick terrace adjacent to the house which has been especially designed to take a marquee of up to 80' by 30'. This is ideal for larger receptions in the summer. It can accomodate up to 120 people for a fully seated meal and up to 200 people for a finger buffet. The marquee needs to be ordered separately from an independent firm. Details can be supplied.

Evening Parties: Please note that the marquee cannot be use for amplified music as it would disturb the neighbourhood. All evening dances and discos need to be held in the cellar restaurant, although the marquee can be used throughout the evening for those who wish to sit out and have a quiet place to talk and drink.
